About Brett Senor, MD

As a board-certified internal medicine physician, I spent years practicing traditional, Western-style medicine. I was skeptical of any approach outside the established norm.

When my wife first started talking about the health benefits associated with plant-based nutrition, I rolled my eyes every time she brought it up. The connection between exercise and health was well-documented, but food? She was persistent, though, encouraging me to look at the science behind eating a variety of plants and minimizing ultra-processed foods. So, I did. And what I found changed everything.

The evidence was there all along, I just hadn’t taken the time to see it.

Once I began reading the research, I was convinced. This wasn’t another fad; it was backed by solid science. The human body performs better when fueled with whole, nutrient-rich foods. Even conventional medical approaches showed better outcomes when paired with good nutrition and eating closer-to-the-source.

Applying what I had learned to my own lifestyle, I immediately noticed a difference. I felt better- less achy, less heartburn, less mental fog. My endurance improved too, allowing me to exercise longer and kickstarting a positive spiral toward even better health.

This shift has transformed the way I practice medicine, and there’s no turning back.

When I work with patients, we talk about treatment options and lifestyle changes in the same conversation. It’s a collaborative process to prevent, slow, or potentially reverse many chronic conditions. I believe that diabetes, depression, obesity, hypertension, and heart disease can significantly improve (or be avoided entirely) when patients receive support in making sustainable changes in their nutrition, physical activity, sleep hygiene, and stress management.

I bring a genuine enthusiasm for what I can offer to my patients, and it’s contagious. Many of my patients inspire others to explore what lifestyle medicine can do for them.

My commitment to learning is lifelong. I’m constantly exploring new research on lifestyle and longevity, and I share what I’ve learned beyond the clinic, through frequent speaking engagements and public appearances. Through my talks and presentations, I help audiences discover how lifestyle medicine can transform health outcomes.

Board certified in both Internal and lifestyle medicine, I have practiced inpatient and outpatient internal medicine for over 30 years. As a speaker and author, I educate physicians, patients, and community members on the transformative power of combining traditional and lifestyle medicine for optimal health.

On a personal note, I am married to my incredible wife, Kim. We enjoy traveling, cooking healthy and delicious meals, singing in a choir, and spending time with our 3 wonderful grown children. My other hobbies (cross-training, hiking, drawing, sculpting, and playing piano) not only enrich my life, but they also inspire the balanced lifestyle I encourage in my patients.

I am committed to empowering others to achieve optimal health through evidence-based, compassionate care.
